CDL Drivers

The University of Maryland  is searching for CDL Drivers to operate transit vehicles including cutaway vans, 30’ buses, 35’ buses, and 40’ buses to transport passengers along assigned routes or designated point-to-point service.  Our drivers are an integral part of the community in which they serve. They are committed to safety and customer service.

Bike Program Assistant - Student

$12.15/HR; 10 hours/week; Flexible schedule
The Sustainable Transportation Team within the Department of Transportation Services works to inform and encourage “Smart Commute” transportation options at the university. Reducing single-occupancy motor vehicle traffic, contributing to the university’s carbon reduction goals, and optimizing the university’s micromobility network are among our team’s priority objectives. This includes managing the expansive bicycle program, fostering a strong bike and micromobility culture, using data to measure levels of effectiveness, providing incentives for bicycle commuting, and overseeing bike parking and storage practices on campus.

Sustainable Transportation Assistant - student

$12.17/hr; 10-15 hours/week (Fall/Spring); Part-time
The Sustainable Transportation Team at DOTS works to provide alternative commute, aka ‘Smart Commute’ options to the university community with the goal of influencing commute behaviors and reducing the number of vehicles that drive and park on campus. UMD Smart Commute programs include: carpool, transit, bike, walk, telework, carshare and a variety of incentive programs.

Human Resources Assistant - student

$12.17/hr; 12-15 hours/week
The Student Human Resource Assistant (SHRA) works with and assists the Student Human Resources Manager in facilitating the recruitment and hiring process for student positions at the Department of Transportation Services. Additionally, the SHRA promotes a fun, supportive and professional work environment. The position requires approximately 12-15 hours a week with $12.17/hr compensation.

Customer Service Representative - Student

$12.17/hr; part-time, undergraduate
The Student Customer Service Representatives at the Department of Transportation Services (DOTS) are responsible for delivering excellent customer service through active and accurate communication with all department customers. Representatives will serve as the first point of contact for all walk-in and telephone customers. They are expected to convey a detailed information regarding departmental policies and regulations to customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner. Students will work to build and maintain positive business relationships for the department with faculty, staff, and students by providing the highest quality customer service.
